According to a new report by Bloomberg, Apple's upcoming redesigned Mac mini will no longer offer USB-A ports, but will be all USB-C ports.

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman is expected to say that the new Mac mini with the M4 Pro chip will have five USB-C ports, three on the back of the body and two on the front, similar to the Mac Studio's design. In addition to the USB-C port changes, the new Mac mini will also retain Ethernet, HDMI and 3.5mm audio ports.

The version of the Mac mini currently on the market with the M2 chip is equipped with two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports, while the M2 Pro version has four USB-C ports and two USB-A ports.

Gurman also revealed that Chinese suppliers plan to start shipping Mac Minis with M4 chips in early September, while M4 Pro shipments are scheduled to begin in October. The M4 series chip will be the first time Apple has used a unified chip family across all Mac product lines, and it is expected that within the next year, Apple will apply the M4 series chip to the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Studio and Mac Pro products.

Gurman has also previously revealed that Apple is working on a completely redesigned Mac mini, which would be the first major update to the product since its 2010 launch. The new Mac mini, which is expected to be released later this year, will feature an all-new Apple TV-like design and will be smaller overall but possibly increased in height. This marks another innovation in Apple's product design and shows its determination to promote USB-C as a standard interface.
